The New Zealand School Property Agency (NZSPA) has been established to manage one of New Zealand's largest and most important public assets, a school property portfolio valued at more than $30 billion. As a standalone Crown Entity, NZSPA is responsible for planning, building, maintaining and administering school property infrastructure that supports students, educators and communities across Aotearoa New Zealand.

About the role

As we build a new organisation and establish our culture, systems and ways of working, we are looking for an experienced HR Business Partner to help shape our people practices and support leaders through a period of significant change.

This is a role where you'll work closely with leaders across NZSPA to provide trusted, pragmatic and solutions-focused people advice across the full employee lifecycle.

In this role you’ll

• Partner effectively with leaders and leadership teams to provide trusted, pragmatic HR advice that supports business objectives and positive people outcomes.
• Build strong, credible relationships across NZSPA, using sound judgement and influencing skills to support decision-making and navigate complex people matters.
• Coach and support leaders to strengthen leadership capability and confidence across a broad range of people management responsibilities.
• Support organisational change, workforce planning and people initiatives, helping leaders and teams successfully navigate periods of transformation and growth.
• Bring a curious, solutions-focused and adaptable approach, balancing competing priorities while responding effectively to changing business needs.

What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who brings strong HR expertise together with a collaborative, people-focused approach. You'll be a trusted partner to leaders, confident navigating complex people matters, building capability, and supporting positive outcomes for both individuals and the organisation.

You'll bring:

• Strong HR business partnering or Senior HR Advisory experience
• Sound knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation and employment relations practices.
• Excellent relationship-building, communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and collaborate across all levels of the organisation.
• Experience coaching, supporting and constructively challenging leaders to strengthen leadership capability and achieve positive people outcomes.
• A curious, collaborative and pragmatic approach, with a commitment to continuous improvement and delivering great people outcomes.
• A relevant tertiary qualification in Human Resources or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of experience and practical expertise.
